Big Mom and Kaido's defeats in One Piece were handled perfectly, and the Wano arc's themes show how USA

Kaido and Big Mom’s simultaneous defeats marked the end of One Piece’s Wano arc. Even while this ending solidified Luffy’s newfound strength and cemented his place alongside Blackbeard as the new emperor of the sea, a lot of fans believed that Kaido and Big Mom’s exit was uninteresting.

The inhabitants of Wano, the real victims of Kaido’s dictatorship, are still in the dark about how their murders became a major global event, despite the One Piece fandom’s regular discussions about it. Although this might be the general consensus, the Wano arc’s themes and storyline imply otherwise.

One Piece: Kaido and Big Mom's offscreen defeats were coherent with the arc's theme

Due to its topics and lengthy runtime of over four years, the Wano arc is unquestionably one of the most well-liked One Piece anime arcs. The entire arc presented Kaido, Orochi, and Big Mom as the main antagonists by illuminating how they had practically taken over Wano and used its land to produce fake Devil Fruits while harming every Wano in the process.

Unfortunately, the Wano people were unaware of the arc’s ending, which saw Kaido, Orochi, and Big Mom die, which saddened a sizable portion of the fandom. The primary themes of Wano suggest that, despite the opinion of many fans that the quiet deaths of Kaido, Orochi, and Big Mom were a poor literary choice, thought the choice was astonishingly in line with the story.

The ghosts that stalk Orochi and remind him of his crimes are embodied as the Red Scabbards, who are messengers of Oden’s will. Orochi was most afraid of these warriors because they roamed Wano like ghosts from the past, seeking revenge on their attacker.

At the end of the arc, Momonosuke and the Red Scabbards make a reappearance in front of the populace after Kaido and Orochi were defeated covertly. Years of misery came to an end on the last night of celebration, which was effectively their “miracle” that granted them freedom during the festival. This concept is emphasized by Big Mom’s defeat, which Law’s strike muffled.

Because Kaido and Big Mom’s defeats were covert, the Wano people are able to continue the fire festival indefinitely, signifying the dawn of a new era. Wano’s liberation was complete.

Final Thoughts

After the Wano arc came the Egghead Island arc, which is about to come to a close in chapter 1122 when Joyboy unleashes his haki from the past.

It was also revealed in the Egghead Island arc that Joyboy’s Haki was strong enough to reverse the Gorosei’s change and return them to Marijoa. On August 18, 2024, One Piece chapter 1123 will be released, revealing the resolution to the Egghead Island arc.
