Chainsaw Man chapter 157 sees Asa and Aki share major similaritiess
Fans will recall that Yoshida amputated Asa’s arm the previous time she made an appearance in the Chainsaw Man comic. Then, in Chainsaw Man chapter 157, Asa made a comeback when she reached the Tokyo Devil Detention Center to free Chainsaw Man from Public Safety.
Asa’s arm was still mutilated and didn’t seem to have healed. far while it was heartbreaking, the drawing made admirers think of something far worse. Fans were reminded of Aki Hayakawa, who had also lost an arm in the battle against the Darkness Devil, when they saw Asa without an arm.
Although Denji and Aki didn’t get along at first, they quickly became close and developed a brotherly bond. Regretfully, Aki was killed by Denji and turned into the Gun Devil Fiend. Fans thus thought that Denji would be reminded of his past by seeing Asa.
Seeing Asa again made fans happy, especially since she resembled their favorite character, Aki Hayakawa. But not all of the supporters were as thrilled. In Chainsaw Man chapter 157, Yoru began to suspect that Asa was losing interest. Recall that Aki had previously expressed his unease at the prospect of losing Denji and Power in the battle against the Gun Devil. In the manga, he died soon after.
Fans therefore worried that Asa Mitaka would meet the same end as the deceased law enforcement official..
A fan even brought up the fact that Asa Mitaka possessed Control Devil Makima and Blood Devil Fiend Power in addition to bearing similarities to Aki Hayakawa. Asa had behaved similarly to Makima when she had urged Denji to follow her orders and not think about anything back when they were stranded within the aquarium.
Regarding Power, the manga depicted Asa as having self-assurance and expressing herself similarly to Power. This occurred in chapter 116 of Chainsaw Man. The resemblance was so striking that even Denji said, alluding to Power, that her speech pattern reminded him of an old acquaintance.
