Deku starting his Pro Hero life again in My Hero Academia may be inspired by Horikoshi's real-life experiences USA

After 430 chapters and nearly ten years, the My Hero Academia manga series just came to an end. The author’s thoughts about the series were rather complex because he couldn’t believe his magnum work had come to an end, even though the series’ ending wasn’t particularly popular with fans.

Although some fans have expressed their displeasure with the series’ ending on the internet, it’s possible that they were unaware of the full significance of the climax. The narrative of My Hero Academia depicts the author’s life hardships, as he overcame rejection and persisted in trying to serialize his story for ten years, despite all the setbacks he suffered.

Izuku Midoriya, a young child who was born without any peculiarities but was inspired by the Pro Heroes around him, was the protagonist of My Hero Academia. Even though Izuku was without a quirk, he leapt to defend his comrades from a villain, and since All Might, the #1 hero, was present, he saw Izuku’s diligence and decided to name him his successor.

Izuku had a difficult beginning to his adventure. He needed a strong, powerful physique to accept All Might’s peculiarity. As a result, All Might gave Izuku some workouts to complete while he studied. As All Might grew stronger, he gave Midoriya his quirk.

his body would shatter from the impact of One for All every time Izuku used it, thus this was not the end of his concerns. Izuku had to work hard and be patient in order to learn how to control his peculiarity for several hundred chapters before that. Izuku achieved his zenith and rose to the status of the greatest hero during the last conflict. Furthermore, he carried on as a hero after the last conflict.

The real significance of the series’ finale may be seen in the life of author Kohei Horikoshi, despite the fandom’s divisive response to it. One-shots such as Tenko and My Hero marked Kohei Horikoshi’s mangaka debut.

After seeing some attention for his one-shots, the writer launched Oumagadaki Zoo, his debut manga series, in Weekly Shounen Jump in 2010. Unfortunately, because the readers weren’t engaging with the series, it had to be canceled after 37 chapters.

Relentlessly, the writer persisted in his endeavors, releasing his second manga, Barrage. Sadly, this story was cancelled after 16 chapters due to even lower readership. The mangaka may find it hard to believe, but the author believed he had run out of ideas, therefore he decided to terminate his career following this rejection.

This might be compared to Midoriya’s quirkless declaration at this stage in Horikoshi’s life. Following the rejection, the author decided to fully commit to his final project, which was inspired by his one-shot My Hero, at the request of one of Horikoshi’s editors, Hitoshi Koike. That was the beginning of My Hero Academia’s ten-year adventure.

Horihoshi had the opportunity to change the world with his masterpiece, just as Midoriya had the ability to become a hero. Horikoshi met deadlines and was absent multiple times, while Midoriya broke limbs.

As Midoriya was crowned the series’ greatest hero, Horikoshi likewise saw his zenith thanks to a global fan base and sales of over 100 million copies (as of April 2024). Thus, the series’ final message was to never give up since wonderful things come to those who wait and keep doing their hardest.
