The sixth chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is scheduled to be released on Friday, January 19, 2024. Days before the chapter’s publication, spoilers and unprocessed scans were posted online. Fans were treated to a number of fresh discoveries with the release of the new chapter spoilers, one of which was Kawaki learning about the “Shinju” from Eida.

The “Shinju” are a new adversary group that the manga introduces. They are created when the Claw Grimes bite a non-Otsutsuki human. A person would have become a God Tree as a result of such deed in the past, but Code’s chakra seems to have forced the Claw Grimes to develop, which is how the Shinju came to be.

Will Boruto and Kawaki band together to battle the Shinju, who pose a threat that far outweighs Code?

Note: There are manga spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex in this page.

Fans are aware that Kawaki is fiercely protective of Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki as he is the only person who does not view Kawaki as a weapon but rather as a fellow human. Given that Kawaki was aware that Naruto would not be safe until Momoshiki Otsutsuki had some influence over Boruto, she made the decision to imprison Naruto in a different realm in order to keep him safe.

Next, accusing Boruto of hitting him and holding him responsible for his parents’ “deaths,” Kawaki persuaded Eida to take Boruto’s place, therefore forcing him from his house. All things considered, it is quite evident that Kawaki would stop at nothing to keep Naruto Uzumaki safe.

Eida warned Kawaki about the threat posed by Shinju three years after those incidents. She told him they were the reawakened consciousnesses of the Ten-Tailed Beast, birthed out of the Claw Grimes. In addition, each of them had a specific target that they desired to devour, and the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, was one of them.

But the last time, Naruto was only threatened by Boruto and Code. Even though those two had Karma as well, Kawaki might theoretically defeat them both in single battles. However, it might not be the case with the Shinju. Although Naruto Uzumaki was only Jura’s goal, there is a very good chance that he will gain assistance from other Shinju.

Thus, Kawaki may be in serious jeopardy given that the Shinju are significantly more powerful than Code. This suggests that if Kawaki fights the Shinju alone, he will probably lose.

Thus, it is possible that Kawaki may desire to work with Boruto in order to save Naruto. Even Boruto, who hates Kawaki enough already, would want to help him keep his father safe. Regretfully, there is no likelihood of Kawaki and Boruto collaborating given how irrational he is. This is further demonstrated by the fact that, despite Code being directly in front of him, Kawaki only assaulted Boruto in chapter 3 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

  1. […] In the midst of all of this, a little fact emerged: Ui Ui, Mei Mei’s younger brother, had a curse that makes him able to teleport instantly. Higuruma’s body was retrieved by Kirara and Ui Ui. However, Sukuna’s theory that they also recovered Gojo’s “supposedly” dead body, proving Ui Ui’s involvement in Gojo’s enigmatic disappearance after chapter 236, is what really set fans on fire. […]
