Blue Box chapter 164: The childhood of the Yusa brothers is revealed as Chono learns the true meaning of love USA

It was anticipated that in Blue Box chapter 164, Chono would assist Haruto in painting the canvas for the play that the latter’s class would perform at the next cultural festival. The moment between Chono and Haruto was what the chapter was all about. Furthermore, Haruto’s early years were made visible by the fact that he always followed his older brother.

This is also how Haruto became interested in badminton, as the fandom had anticipated, but he wasn’t as skilled as his brother at it. The chapter then went back to the present, where Chono described how Haruto’s character attributes, in spite of his harsh actions, define who he is. Later on, Chono came to understand that “falling in love” could actually mean desiring to be seen by your loved ones.

Socially Awkward was the title of Blue Box chapter 164. A little flashback to Haruto’s first day of Eimei High School, when he was being reprimanded by a teacher for not wearing his tie, opened the chapter. The chapter then picked up where it left off in the previous chapter, with Chono painting with Haruto after an inadvertent student stumbled over it and ruined it.

Chono was ecstatic to be painting on such a large canvas because she had never done so before, but Haruto was complaining that she was ruining it by painting over the lines. Chono described the painting process, starting with the larger features and working down to the smallest details.

She then inquired as a matter of protocol as to whether Haruto ought to have asked a classmate for assistance. He said that since he made the error, he should bear the responsibility for repairing it. Over this, Chono referred to him as a “awkward dude” and said he was more “awkward” than he realized.

Next, Blue Box chapter 164 presented the early years of Haruto and Shuji Yusa. Haruto was always imitating his older brother, much as he emulated Shuji’s passion for sketching and badminton. But Shuji was quite good at this sport, whereas Haruto was very mediocre. Observing his brother’s fervent form, Haruto asked others to train alongside him.

But nobody had the energy to carry on, so Haruto could only watch his brother play. Ever since, Haruto has accompanied Shuji to badminton practise and has even taped his racquet in the same colour as Shuji.

One day, Shuji wasn’t returning home while his curfew was nearning, so their mother panicked and inquired Haruto about Shuji’s whereabouts. They searched everywhere but the badminton court, the only location they could think of for him.

When they arrived, Shuji was playing badminton with a few adults. Shuji’s mother immediately began berating him for not caring about other people, to which he responded by stating that he intended to return before his curfew ended.

Shuji’s playing partners, the adults, said he had a talent for a new generation. Shuji invited them to play with him once more in the future as they were heading back. When Haruto showed up at the badminton stadium the following day, he requested the same youngsters to play with him.

After jumping back to the present, Blue Box chapter 164 had Chono describing how the princess in Beauty and the Beast never gave a damn about her lover’s appearance. She went on to say that, in her opinion, the truest kind of “love” was to be accepted for oneself.

Following this, some of Haruto’s classmates showed in and inquired about the black area on the canvas. When the culprit showed up, he said that he was to blame and that he had fled because he was scared. A fellow student of Haruto’s interrupted to clarify that, despite his intimidating appearance, Haruto is a good-hearted boy on the inside.

Everyone burst up laughing, including Chono, who revealed that Haruto’s kindness and short fuse were the qualities that made him Haruto Yusa. As Blue Box chapter 164 came to a close, Chono came to the realization that “falling in love” could actually refer to a state in which a person is ecstatic that their partner is seeing them.
